Indians were the first people to play lacrosse. No one knows when it first started or who made it. When the it was played by the indians it was played very different then it was today. The games were played with one-hundred to one-thousand people, and the goals were 1/2 to four miles apart, also the player would wear no pads. The reasons the Indians played the Lacrosse was so they could prep the indians for war. Lacrosse was also played to settel disputes between the indian tribes. Also indians played the sport very religiously. The Indians sticks were also very different from ours today on stead of being made out of metal, plastic and string they would be made out of wood and leather strips. The Indians stick were more focused on hurting people rather then help in in pass and catching.
