During the 1900's lacrosse under went many important changes. During the early 1900's lacrosse was part of the Olympics, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse League (USILL) was formed. But with this good news came bad news. At the same time, native lacrosse was beginning to be demised in many areas. Wagering games was always integral to an Indian communities involvement. Then people started betting on violence and the traditional Indian culture was eroding, and the games were interfering with church. An Indian group began to add lead weights to their sticks the game was banned. Mean while nonnative lacrosse was spreading. Then in 1908 lacrosse was played for the last time in the Olympics Canada won the gold medal. In 1926 the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association was reestablished and rules were created for women lacrosse. Then in 1937 Robert pool made a double wall wooden stick, a prototype for sticks to day. Another big step for lacrosse was in 1959 when lacrosse was add to the National Sports Development center and Archive. Then Lacrosse becomes a much wider played sport when it becomes part of the NCAA's. In 1997 the Lacrosse Museum and National hall of fame was completed. Finally in 1998 Us Lacrosse was created and still governs lacrosse today.
